When Harold Davis set out to build an "alternative Septic Solution", he designed it using his Wife's' Apple. As his business grew, he continued to find unique ways to run his company efficiently using Apple products. As the housing market boomed, so did his need for additional computers, staff and 4 new satellite locations. WAI was in a tough place, realizing that they no longer could manage there 4 person office and needed to seek assistance of a Managed Service Provider. Harold picked up the phone and called RightPath Networks, and after further discussion, came up with a solution that would allow them to securely share files and information as well as clean up and consolidate the redundant email and software systems scattered across the company.

A Clogged Pipe

WAI had a number of locations all with different configurations and bandwidth issues. RightPath designed and implemented a VPN Network using Sonic Wall Products that connected all locations to the corporate office. The main office runs a Fiber connection to Verizon with the satellite offices using Satellite, DSL, Cable mediums to tunnel back in a Hub and Spoke configuration. Dynamic DNS was used when static addressing could not be implemented. RightPath monitors the entire VPN network using is Nagios Monitoring products for VPN failures, power outages and responds to each incident in real-time, keeping the data flowing.

To stay ahead of the demand, WAI needed to remain flexible, fast and efficient. RightPath implemented a backup sync solution, giving engineers in the field offices access to the data even if the network was unavailable. RPN provided sales and management Apple I Books with VPN clients to stay connected to the office and update iCal, Chronosync and Address Book applications. The installers can now update project status as it completed in the field, allowing billing to manage invoicing quickly and efficiently.

To deal with data loss and security, RightPath implemented an X-Server for backup, redundancy, and accessibility for the entire office. All monitored from RightPath's Network operations center for quick problem resolution.

Flowing again

For Davis, the Mac is an efficient engineering machine, having RightPath Networks Managing the IT is a winning solution for WAI. Harold stated "RightPath has become a vital, to keeping my business running at peak performance."
